Using the Active PowerBook Message Manager

Main Help Page

Select Message Manager from the Control Panel and click Go. From here you can click on…

  • Add message – to add a new message
  • Delete all messages – this sends all message to the Active PowerBook Recycle Bin.

Within each message you can click on…

  • Delete message – this sends the message to the Active PowerBook Recycle Bin.
  • Delete thread – if a message has received one or more responses, you can delete the entire thread. To delete and individual message in a thread you need to click on View/Edit Responses.
  • Edit – allows you to edit a message. From here you can also edit the DATE of a message, something that you need to be logged in to the Control Panel to do.
  • View/Edit Responses – allows you to view an entire thread.
  • Block computer – if someone is spamming you, you can try blocking them. A cookie is added to their computer which stops them even viewing your PowerBook. If the cookie is removed by the user then they can once again add messages. You can not block your own computer. PLEASE NOTE that blocked users will simply see a message saying "The requested file was not found". This is because, if they get a message telling them they have been blocked, they will likely spend much time trying to hack their way back in.
  • Make public/private – you can change the status of a message from public to private or vice versa. This determines whether or not the message appears in the main PowerBook page.
